Disappearing Files, Masquerading Files
My tablet is letting me down lately. Still an N800 running the latest OS2008 release.
I use Nokia Video Center as a podcatcher. The only perhaps unusual thing I've done is use a script to crudely translate an OPML list of feeds into one .vcfg file - without this i'd lose sanity every time I need to reflash and add 20+ feeds manually. I don't think this is a cause as I used this method a few months ago without any problem. Since a reflash to clear an unrelated problem with Media Player a week or so ago, I keep losing files, some of which have only just been downloaded. Very occasionally I also find the contents of a missing file to be under the filename of another. At first I thought I was imagining it, but returning to the feed in video center shows the file with a "Play" button, which appears once a file is down. Clicking this leads to "file not found", the button reverts to say "Download" and I have to start again. It is more than a little frustrating to download a days worth of shows, head out and find that everything but the one you're llistening to has vanished. Does anybody have ANY idea what's going on here? There is a little in the FAQ about the application doing housekeeping at 15MB free space, but the card i've elected has over 7GB free. Help appreciated! Cheers, Tom. |
