Hi,

Is there an easy way to have gajim (a jabber client) onto a n810 tablet ?

Regards

The default chat client supports jabber.
Go to the control panel >> Accounts >> New >> Next >> pick Jabber from the drop down.
Hope that helps.

Pidgin also supports Jabber.

Pidgin supports Jabber servers and a whole host of others... Is it something related directly to gajim that you need and want??

Pidgin can be found here

In fact I want a decent jabber client which does a lot more than any of the proposed clients :) Pidgin is quite bad in its jabber support and the default client does not support chat rooms AFAIK. So I want a real jabber client. Gajim is what I am calling a good jabber client.

The page he pointed you to is for a Maemo-specific port. The screenshots on the page are taken from the device and from the Maemo SDK,

so in a nutshell, yes it runs

The developer notes that "right-click" in the contact menu will not work and the menus are not hildonized, but that shouldn't be a problem
