Bluetooth gps? will this work?

http://www.woot.com/

Any idea if it would work with the n800. The software probably wouldn't since its for smartphones.

You can already buy lots of add-on Bluetooth GPS units for the N800, Nokia even sells N800 bundles which include Bluetooth GPS units.

If you update the N800's firmware to OS2008, it can download the mapping software that the GPS unit could use.

The cost being 50 bucks - IF it works with the N800 it'd be nice.

Does anyone know if it does?

You mention lots of units - around this price? I'm spending too much on gas to afford much more.

I have done the research and am convinced that I will buy a Holux M1000 bluetooth GPS for my N800. Sells new for $45. Rumor has it that it works better than the N810's built in GPS.

Any bluetooth GPS should work fine. They're commodities, and I would recommend buying on price more than anything else. I have an F-Tech unit with a solar cell, and it works great with everything I've tried, including Palm and PC, as well as my N800.

I think practically ANYTHING would work better than the N810's built-in GPS... :D

One of the reviewers on Amazon.com said he paired it with his N800 and it works fine. He says the cradle fits it, just barely, and Garmin was sending him a different power adapter that would work for the N800.

The only place i see the m1000 for 45 dollars is 3rd party stores from amazon. and the huge price gap (amazon is 100+) to these stores worry me.

edit: noticed buy.com sells cheaper as well. so amazon has a huge mark up. but what's the difference between the m1000 and the m1200? i notice that the m1200 is smaller and more light weight.

Holux 1000 works fine, I got mine from Canada GPS two weeks ago. Lovely little tool, ideal for tracing out my bicycle travels in Toronto on MaemoMapper's maps.
