Putty for OS2008
Telnet/SSH client for X
This is the Unix port of the popular Windows ssh client, PuTTY. It supports flexible terminal setup, mid-session reconfiguration using Ctrl-rightclick, multiple X11 authentication protocols, and various other interesting things not provided by ssh in an xterm. Ok, full tools, everything there including the non working pterm. Compiled from latest svn. Some notes: An option for the nonworking pterm is present in the menu. Sorry (it can be deleted). This was complied to use GTK 2 instead. The interface is very odd and not suited for the tablets but usable. (that means it's not hildonised, because I don't know how) When telnetted, hildon input method will not be available. Use xkbd or the N810 keyboard (or for us N800ers (put your hands up!), a bluetooth keyboard) http://i25.tinypic.com/1zb5pjd.png http://i31.tinypic.com/8vyddi.png http://www.mediafire.com/?klww2cj9zrz Me first upload! andrewfblack is just too brilliant. http://qwerty12.maemobox.org/putty-0...12-1_armel.deb |

Re: Putty for OS2008
Nice, I didn't even know there was a Linux Putty equivalent :-)
Is there also something like its WinSCP companion ? |
Re: Putty for OS2008

Re: Putty for OS2008
i have found that the version available for fedora does not setup a listener when forwarding/tunneling ports to the remote host. does this version for maemo have this bug?
i understand that this is not a "ported-to-maemo" bug, but a bug in the original code, and was just wondering what version of code was used for the port. the version that i am using on fedora, that has the issue is 0.60.3.fc9.i386. |
Re: Putty for OS2008
just a note, it seems that forwarding port 3128 (squid) does not setup the listener properly, but forwarding local port 8080 to remote host on port 3128 does work.
i tested this to see if it was just 3128, as the privoxy port 8118 had a listener setup on my local machine when i tried to tunnel it. |
Re: Putty for OS2008
Hey, is there anyone here that can possibly make it so that Putty can run in full screen mode (unless I'm missing an option for this)?
Thanks! |
Re: Putty for OS2008
Well, in my unrelenting, obsessive quest in trying to use CP 437 character encoding in telnet, Putty definitely offers such a feature and it works perfectly. :D
However, I'm still not finding a way to have Putty run in full screen mode. The option should appear under Window's Behavior with ALT-Enter to get a full screen but it's not there for some reason. Any help on this? Thanks! |

I cannot install and try this (at work, closed network) now... but did you try hitting the center top button (like you'd use to maximize, say, an xterm window) ? |
Re: Putty for OS2008
Yeah, Zoom In and Out as well as the Maximize buttons all seem to be disabled.
I've even tried running Putty in a full screen Xterm window. No such luck. So am I missing something on this or is this option just not featured? |
