Are you asking about the Nokia gps kit or gps receivers in general?

I was an Early adopter and bought the kit as soon as it was available for the N800 >>http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...ead.php?t=6339

IMHO, until there is a substantial improvement via a software upgrade, it is NOT worth the money.

You would do better with a $99 stand alone unit.

I'm thinkin' in few months, competition will be cut-throat in the now over saturated GPS navigator bid'ness. :)
This may result in even more features at a lower price.

A year ago this wasn't the case with 4.3" wide screen navigators going for over $500. At <that time the Navicore kit was a good deal. Particularly if the software was on a defined path for improvements.

Since then GPS navigator prices have steadily declined while Navicore, now Wayfinder has offered zero upgrades and no improvements ... They have even reduced the terms of the original user's licensing agreement by limiting it to 3 years.

I got a Holux GPS blue tooth receiver and it sync'ed right up to maemomapper. It works great. I used it last week in Sao Paulo Brazil and tracked all of my taxi trips. Works wonderfully. Get em on Ebay (search Holux gps) for about $50 or less.

^ Exactly :)

If you can get the file of the thing, I'll take a look for ya.

To amkaos...

Now that the app comes pre loaded in the Tablets OS flash upgrades; the cost of trying Wayfinder is now less than the $200 + I had to lay out.

You can get a good BT GPS transceiver for less than $50 US and try Wayfinder free of charge for something like 10 days.

I got it. How can I give it to you? I have AIM on my right upper corner, or I can email to you or you suggest something. It is a 32 MB poi.bin. I want to port it to maemo mapper!
AIM will take over 30min and you cannot have firewall. Some email acct does NOT take bin file. we will just have to go and see....

I think I may have solved our file transfer problem, bun... I ordered one for my wifes car and expect delivery by the end of the week. :)

In the mean time if you live in the Northeast of the US, check out this thread >> http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...ad.php?t=10136 where I ripped some POI's from TomTom and converted them to Navicore?Wayfinder.

If you know how to convert any of the versions I posted to Maemo Mappers format that would be a start.
