Web page applet
Is there a desktop applet that will display a web page on the desktop, e.g. having you're igoogle page displayed instead of one of the other applets?

Re: Web page applet
No, and I doubt that ever will be. This is a recipe for battery disaster.

Re: Web page applet
Why not just go to iGoogle in the browser? That would be pretty much the same thing as displaying it on the desktop.

Re: Web page applet
The next best thing then would just be to leave my browser open to my igoogle page then.

Re: Web page applet
There is of course the Web shortcut application you can activate on the first screen of your tablet. That's not quite what you want, but darn close.

Re: Web page applet
Hi;
If you leave the MicroBrowser open to the page you want, and then put the tablet in offline (aka 'airplane') mode - (touch the power button to get to the selector), and lock then lock the screen, your battery drain will be small. When you want to "wake it up" and use it, unlock (takes about 3 seconds), go to online mode (another 4 seconds), and wait for the wireless to reconnect (about 10 seconds). A bit of a hassle, and not quite as quick as the Palm instant-on, but not too bad. Steve |
Re: Web page applet
With a bit of text-file tweaking, and not working under "current" software, you can set it to go offline on going to soft-poweroff, and come back when you come back on... but after Diablo is released, this will likely work.
