flashed new firmware 23-14 can't d/l
 

I flashed to the new os2008, 23-14 I believe and it works great, but I cannot install anything from the maemo.org site. I click on the green arrow, everything goes perfectly, the app mamager opens up and then tells me "application package not found". does anyone know what is going on? I did manage to install fbreader from the main nokia site, but I can't download squat from maemo.
I have been trying to d/l other weather for 2 days. thanks.

Check the distribution box in the application catalog. You can choose to leave it blank, use "chinook" or "diablo"

I have the same problem. I tried leaving the distribution box blank, using diablo, using chinook but nothing. Also none of the programs like canola are listed.

Ok I got it to work... I wasn't spelling chinook right :)

used this:

Catalog name: maemo Extras chinook

Distrbution: chinook
Components: free non-free

From what I understand, Nokia sort of messed up the procedure for releasing Diablo. The actual firmware works fine but the default settings won't let you install any apps from maemo.org.

They are aware of the problem though and they are working on it.

Well, no, the procedure was fine. The issue is that Diablo Extras hasn't had time to get up to speed yet—it's essentially the same situation we were in when OS2008 was released (though without any library breaks this time). Niels, Ed and others are working very hard to get packages through the new autobuilder, but Diablo Extras is going through a much more stringent QA process, so a lot of packages that were in Chinook Extras need a little tlc before they'll be 100% ready to go into Diablo Extras (dependencies need to be properly specified, they need to build in the autobuilder and pass its basic sanity checks, etc).

The net result of this will be a higher-quality packages, almost all of which will have source packages available, and a much better repository experience overall. Unfortunately, this takes time, but things are moving and we should be up to speed soon enough.

I did this and it works and installs the app. then the app I just installed doesn't
appear anywhere and I can't use it. freaking wonderfull. The strange thing is everything on the tablet works wonderfully and the apps from nokia's site still install and work. I give up. thanks for your and others help. Omweather tells me to reboot the device in order for it to work, which it didn't do before the wonderful upgrade to 23-14. I don't even know how to reboot the device outside of shutting it off and turning it back on.
