I susguest you get a 2Gb card and do the following.

1. Reflash with 2008HE (only thing that does not work right is the external speaker, headphones work fine)

2. Flash kernal with high speed kernal I susguest installing the ssh server to get to root.

tar zxvf kernel_flasher.tgz
cp zImage-48MHz ~/MyDocs/.documents/kernel_flasher
cd kernel_flasher
./kernel_flash

3. install this, it will clone your os to your card (wiping it) have nothing installed at this point(the ssh server is ok, just not canola or anything large), you might want to remove all the pdf's in the doc folder.
Letting your boot and run much faster!!!!!
