N810/Diablo: what option if "update" does NOT work?
 

On random routine check, my mplayer is NOT running the latest, pics attached. Both taken at the same time, today. One is from N800/Diablo/IntFlash boot and the other is from N810/Diablo/extSD boot. Went to app manager, click the update button on either "browse installable..." or "update", no result. Went to the home page, it listed .26 version. Searched and goofied around for 15 min, went to maemo.org/dl and found the .29 version.

I do not want "xterm/update", as it updates everything. So, what other option I have to trigger a specific apps to get update? Should I file a bug report?

Try just going to the maemo.org/downloads page for mplayer and clicking the green install arrow?

Maybe your problem is due to the repositories currently borked (what a surprise!).
Just wait a while until they fix them (and be quick enough to avoid them being borked again)

btw bunanson, where can I find such statusbar digital clock for diablo?
I couldn't find it anywhere since it's a pain looking for any proper diablo repositories ('official' extras are down for me from yesterday somehow :( )
