Searching seems to imply that "you can't" or at least I can't (not being a developer) but just in case...

The Nokia contacts app is utterly unsuited to my requirements. I'd like the contacts button to point to the GPE contacts or Pimlico contacts.

Is this just a matter of editing a desktop file, or is it much harder than that?

The contacts menu can't be changed, quite a stupid design decision if you ask me. 'fiferboy' has made 'personal menu' for that.

I was afraid of that. You'd think there would be a config file to point the button at the built in app, but someone clearly decided that was too hard.

Hmm.. personal menu requires me to know the command line startup for the things I want to put in it. More digging :)

Personal menu has an 'add from list of applications' on the configuration menu. You're right though the app can be configured to launch items using command line scripts etc making it very useful.
