Using the N8x0 AS a bluetooth keyboard
Hi all,
Well, it seems I've a rather uncommon request with this one :p Couldn't find anything about that. To put it in a nutshell, I lost interest in my N800 and was considering selling it. Until I recently set up a hometheater PC and now I'm trying to turn my ITT into a remote for my multimedia player (web based, so far). I do not have a keyboard on this box and it is sometimes annoying. As I do not want to buy a keyboard that would be barely used, it would be really cool if I could use the N800 as a bluetooth keyboard (a kind of application I would launch whenever needed). Did any one of you hear of such thing? Is it feasible, or just dumb/pointless/silly? Thanks a lot! |

Dunno; I haven't tried. But I had indeed heard of such a thing, it's feasible, and it's not dumb/pointless/silly. But it's not really all that useful for me, so I haven't messed with it. As the latest version looks to be for Bora, I wouldn't expect it to work without some effort.

It would be great to see something like BlueRemote, the PalmOS app. That emulates a mouse as well as a keyboard.

Thanks ! That's a start for sure.
I'll contact the guy, maybe he will have some advice to make it work on Diablo. I'll keep you posted. |

1 install vnc server or enable rdesktop server on your media player,
2 use vncviewer or rdesktop client on tablet. 3 profit! |
Re: Using the N8x0 AS a bluetooth keyboard
Hmm, it would be useful for me for in class presentations (control laptop from n800).

Re: Using the N8x0 AS a bluetooth keyboard
I think a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse emulation solves different problems than VNC-type remote screen control software, so both have their place.
