problem with rotation
I have an N800 with OS2008 Diablo installed. The first time I installed the screen rotation, it worked fine. Today, when I tried rotating the screen, the image would not rotate, but the X/Y positions would. Meaning that the screen looks the same, but where I am tapping does not match.
Any help/ideas? |
Re: problem with rotation
You've probably done an SSU since it was working, and now it's running a stock kernel. Use the SlideRotate setting (in Extras) to reinstall the kernel.
(I assume you installed the SlideRotate package; if you went with standalone kernel, X server, etc., then just reflash the kernel however you did it.) |

Problem with sliderotate buttons
Hi,
I also ran into a problem with sliderotate. While installing it for the first time I ticked "use power key -" and "use home key to rotate". I didn't like this because I couldn't lock the device keys. I tried to reinstall sliderotate and untick the settings this time, but it doesn't fix the problem - somehow the power key only works very rarely (~10% of times or so works...) Is the only fix reflashing the kernel? I'm on a N800 running diablo 4.2008.36-5. Thanks a lot for any help. |
Re: problem with rotation
You'll have to search other threads (use google) for explanation of how to get your power button working as it used it.
But, did you know that once sliderotate is installed, you have to hit the power button twice in a row, quickly, for the power menu to pop up? |
Re: problem with rotation
Wow!
No I didn't know you get the menu by double clicking the power button (that certainly explains, why I would sometimes still get the menu as I mentioned)! Thanks a lot for helping out! btw, I did search for a explanation first so I wasn't looking for an easy (=lazy) way out :) |
