Hm, there's some rubbish in that article.. e.g.

And then it goes on to talk about some earlier JVMs the guy had developed while at Sun. Javascript has nothing to do with Java, so I wonder what they're going on about.

in the article they mix java and javascript a little, but the point was, that designer of JavaVM just-in-time compiler also designed v8 JavaScript engine, that also includes just-in-time compiler.
