Temperature/Metric Converter Software?

I'm looking for a program that will hopefully convert Celsius to Fahrenheit as well as metric to whatever it is they call the way we measure things in America. (standard?)

Google has been no help, all I can find are applications that check the temperature of the unit.

Does anyone know if something like this exists?

I know theres plenty of sites that you can use to do conversion. You can see if you can save the page to your tablet and just load it in the browser. I haven't tested this to see if it works.

I just tried it out, it works fine.

Visit http://onlineconversion.com/length_common.htm and then in the tablet browser go to Menu > Webpage > Save as... and save the webpage to your device. To use it, open up the File Manager, find the .html file and open it. Works fine when disconnected from the internet.

Also (not very fancy, but easy) is Google's own 'converter' right in the search bar.

e.g.

"32 f in c"

...produces:

"32 degrees Fahrenheit = 0 degrees Celsius"

If you have Garnet VM on your tablet, there are several Palm apps (some free and some not so free) out there that should do the trick...

Its called Imperial (unit/system), in effect in UK & Commonwealth + USA.

You can also use Google to convert one format to another. Go to Google.com and fill in e.g. 5 inch to cm and you'll get the answer in cm. Caveat: you have to be online for this to function.

This is a great converter that is free. You have to add GVM (Garnet) which is a Palm emulation (also free) but it does open the tablet to many useful (and otherwise unavailable ) applications.

Download Unit Converter Pro for Palm (UCPPalm.zip) here:

The only problem with google, is you have to be at a wifi point for it to work, so I wanted something I could use regardless of if I have a connection to the internet or not. I've never heard of GVM....can I easily get it?

Command line: GNU units - I compiled it from debian package:

GUI: there is gonvert:

http://unihedron.com/projects/gonvert/index.php

This is a python program, so assuming you have python (and the necessary python modules) installed, it should work. Download the source package, open it and run from command line

python gonvert
