Omweather installation failed - application packages missing

Hello,

I got my N810 today and the fun started :p

However, some of the applications that I try to install fail for some reason.

One example is Omweather. When I try to install it it fails with the following error:

Code:

Unable to install omweather
Application packages missing: libhildondesktop0 (>= 1:2.0.6-1)
                              libhildonwm0 (>= 1:2.0.6-1)

I tried searching for a package (as limited as the search function in app installer is) containing libhildon or hildon keywords but found nothing. I also added the extras-devel repository but had no luck in finding the proper packages.

Attempted installations of other applets fail with similar errors.

HELP :confused:

...since you *just* got your N810, the first question to ask is: what OS revision are you running? Did you upgrade to Diablo, or are you running Chinook?

Re: Omweather installation failed - application packages missing

I did no upgrade whatsoever. I saw mentions of Diablo and Chinook here and there but could not find any explanation what these codenames mean.

What is reported by About product screen is: OS2008, version 1.2007.42-19

Thanks!

Update:
So I tried to install the Chinook version of omweather from here: https://garage.maemo.org/frs/?group_...elease_id=1998

But I got the same error. I will try upgrading the OS2008 version to Diablo and try again.

excellent decision...

had you not upgraded to the latest OS, I was going to suggest that you make that your first step. Once you've done that, the OMWeather in the Extras repository should "just work" for you.

OK.

Installed the latest firmware and now the problems are resolved :-)

cool deal. glad to hear it. :)

...and, there'll be an update to OMWeather coming out fairly soon. ...or you can grab a preview in the Extras Devel repository, if you can't wait.
