XChat is back! Oh my God!
 

Maybe this is old news but I'm so excited I just can't oh my God I'm jumping through my room this is just..... XChat! It's there! Must be in "extras" I guess, because somebody said recently it's in extras-dev already.

XChat was the very first application I installed on my 770 and it was sooooo cool to have a real desktop-application on the small tablet. Then it was gone, no compatible version anymore. And now it's back, and it's better than ever! It really looks good in its hildon glory. I love it!

btw: there's a setting you can change in xchat.conf: irc_conf_mode is 0 by default. Change it to 1 and you'll no longer see join/part-messages. They can take to much screen estate in crowded channels...

Well, uh, it's been available from skyhusker since last year, and from Extra-devel for at least a month.

It's pretty much always been somewhere, but mgedmin pushed it to Extras yesterday.

I lost it. literally. only recently somebody pointed my to the hidden place where skyhusker kept his *debs, but at the same time i was told it's already in extras-dev. so i decided to wait.... Besides: I think it's not politically correct to even notice (let alone talk about) things that are not in extras :D

Well, Extras-devel is still Extras, and it's actually more beta than alpha these days.

Personally, I have it enabled all the time and haven't had any issues (and there's quite a bit of software hiding in there).

Me too, except Xournal; the extras-devel version is pretty fail ATM. So I don't upgrade that one; everything else is fine.

lol. I redid my tablet a few months ago after it ate itself and I just installed Xchat right out of the list of apps without a problem. It's aways been there for me.
