Multiple MMC Chips

Using OS2006 Final.
Can you remove the MMC (after having created a swap file on it) without first powering it down?
Also can you put another swap file on another chip?
Can you keep changing the chips as desired (e.g. to play different movies from different chips) without powering it down and use which ever swap file happens to be there?
Would I at least have to close the browser between changes?
Thank you for your help.

You should not remove the MMC once you are using it for swap. The swap should be deactivated before removing the MMC.

The 2006 OS is far more memory conserving than the early 2005 version was. Maybee you don't really need the swap anymore? I know I don't.

Yes, when you open the MMC door with active swap it tries to turn off the swap silently if there is enough free memory and warns you with dialog if it was not possible. It offers you to kill running apps and retry and warns you that you really shouldn't remove the card if you dont want to kill them.

This is possible in 2006 since they changed MMC driver so the card is readable even when door is open. Good for normal sized cards too. In older system opening the door disabled mmc slot completely.
