Problems with media players
I have a problem with media players. I have installed MPlayer, Canola2 and Kagu. Whenever I launch any of them I get the "Kagu - Loading" or whatever the app name is, then nothing. I have the Python 2.5 library installed and have other Python based apps working. I have some media files that the basic video player that comes with the 770 can view. Any ideas why these other applications don't work?

Re: Problems with media players
try starting them from the xterm terminal window (by typing "mplayer" or "canola" or "kagu" at the $ prompt)... you may see some messages there that indicate what the problem may be...

Re: Problems with media players
MPlayer has started working. How odd is that? Here are the results of running the other two in XTerm:
~ $ kagu Traceback (most recent call last): File "./kagu.py", line 25, in ? if remote.remote(sys.argv): sys.exit(0) File "/usr/lib/kagu/remote.py", line 15, in remote os.mkfifo(FIFO) #create fifo OSError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory ~ $ canola Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/bin/canola", line 18, in ? import ecore ImportError: No module named ecore |
