Mysterious red plastic poking out back of device
I just noticed this poking out the back of my device, visible when I open it:
http://dylanmccall.googlepages.com/N810Problem.JPG Naturally, that worries me because I swear it wasn't there before. It looks like it leads in to one of the various ribbon cables which are reportedly very fragile in the N810. However, if it is foreign matter I would love to yank it out. It also seems very odd that the plastic at the end of a ribbon cable would be protruding from the case. A few things: -If this is unusual, I would love to be given warranty service in the event that something goes wrong even after the one year since the issue has arisen within the warranty period. (Naturally, they wouldn't fix this as is since it's just an aesthetic thing). Any tips on having that happen? -Is this unusual? I may have just missed it, since that is a rather small plastic tab. Check the back of your N810 and let me know :) -Could any experts say what that leads in to? It would be nice to know what I'm up against. Edit: And isn't that photograph a wonderful illustration of gadget designers with no concern about gaps where dust collects? There's the gunky slider on my N810, my keyboard, my trackpad... sheesh. |

Picklesworth,
that looks wrong and you are right to be worried. I did think i could see something of the right color, but cannot be certain. However I cannot actually take a pic of it clearly by aiming as closely as possible down the gap. I've added a couple of attachments of what I did manage to get. |
