Installing Maemo SDK 4.1.1
 

Hi,

I'm trying to install the new SDK on Ubuntu 8.04, and running into a strange problem... I followed the INSTALL.txt steps. Installed the scratchbox fine, but when trying to install the SDK via the script, it fails when getting two debs out of over 400. #200 and #400 show as:

Error reading from server - read (104 Connection reset by peer)

I can use wget to get them manually just fine...

Any thoughts?

Well, i just did everything manually and it worked. Not really sure why I had that issue still...

I had this same issue. I installed 4.1 then did an apt-get dist-upgrade

It seemed to do the same thing. Seems like a bug in the script, although I don't know why doing the wget would work on the exact same line.

Same here. I used the manual install and have since used upgrade route on a new install.

I had trouble installing the python2.5 environment in scratchbox. The solution turned out to be including the diablo extras-devel repository in /etc/apt/sources.list and running

fakeroot apt-get update
fakeroot apt-get install maemo-python-env

Here are the extra lines for /etc/apt/sources.list:

deb http://repository.maemo.org/extras diablo free non-free
deb http://repository.maemo.org/extras-devel diablo free non-free

I think its the server. Cause I was upgrading my packages the other day (after latest SSU) and it was downloading; then timeout. I restart, and the same happens. For several times. At some point I gave up and decided to try again later. Next day I was able to grab some more packages with less timeouts inbetween.

It is a server bug. And seems to be fixed:
