Vncviewer doesn't run Windows on the N810. It allows you to remote control another computer that is connected to your network.

You need to download, install, and run VNC Server on the Windows PC that you want to remote control. Then run X Terminal on the N810 and type vncviewer on the command line. After vncviewer starts, you need to enter the IP address of the Windows PC that is running the server. You can find out the IP address by holding the mouse pointer over the vncserver icon on the task bar of the Windows PC. Once connected you should see and control the screen of the Windows PC on the N810.

Install a vnc server on your windows machine

install vnc-viewer on the tablet (http://vncviewer.garage.maemo.org/

start vnc-viewer and connect to your windows machines IP address.

Yes, but not at all secure without setting up a VPN.

Without a VPN you would have to set the Windows firewall to allow it and, if you use a router on your home network, enable port forwarding on the router to forward incoming connections to your PC's network IP address. You would enter the IP address that your internet service provider assigns you into vnc viewer. You'll have to Google for the details.

Edit: You could try Logmein to remote control your Windows PC. There's a N800/N810 browser plugin available here https://secure.logmein.com/labs.asp

It's not that simple. Vpnc on the tablet would allow you to connect to your VPN. You have to set up the VPN on your home network. I've never done it, so I can't help. There are some easy tools to set one up, but you would have to Google for more info.

If you use Logmein (free), you don't need a VPN.

If you don't have a VPN, a ssh tunnel is probably the easiest way to connect sanely. Do not use VNC over untrusted networks; plaintext authentication, to say nothing of data.
