Is this a mobile?!
Hey folks,
since I use my internet tablet at university more and more people ask what it is. I should add that I am studying information technology. So my friends have some kind of tech knowledge. Everytime I take out my N810, their first guess is that it is a mobile. When I ask them why they think like that they say that it is from Nokia, so it should be a mobile. Second thing is that people who have some kind of knowledge in this direction really believe that the OS is some sort of Windows Mobile. So again and again I have to tell them what it really is about. I thought about putting a label on my N810 telling them that "I am not a mobile." What experiences did you make with people who don't know the Tablets? |

Well I have been asked a million times is that an iPhone. Infact 2 times tonight I was asked that.

Tell them it's a UMPC. This is a well-known term meanwhile, and people don't associate UMPC with phones.
An internet tablet that's not a phone is not cool, but a UMPC that fits in your pocket and has GPS is. ;) |

People often refer to my IT as my <shudder> Palm Pilot. Even back when I used Palm PDAs I hated it when they called it a Palm Pilot. It sounded like when my dad would call my component sound system a "Hi Fi". ;) I guess I'm picky picky picky. Frank |

We need a new name for these things. When I say internet 'Tablet' here in the Netherlands I get funny looks because the word is more associated with medicine than devices. Plus we need Paris Hilton to use one of these.
