Is there a PowerTerm or Hyperterm
I spend a lot of time in the field fixing routers, switches and AP's.. I just dawned on me that when I am on a lift in the ceiling looking at a borked AP, it would be a lot nicer and easier if I could connect up my N810 to the console port and make changes that way rather than lugging my laptop up there..
Is there any serial term software for Maemo out there?? Thanks |
Re: Is there a PowerTerm or Hyperterm
minicom should do what you want.

Re: Is there a PowerTerm or Hyperterm
brendan - I installed "Minicom". How do I run it? It doesn't appear in any of the application folders.

Re: Is there a PowerTerm or Hyperterm
It's a command line app, open the terminal and type 'minicom'

Re: Is there a PowerTerm or Hyperterm
When I type minicom in xterm, I get:
minicom: cannot open /dev/ttyS1: No such file or directory |
Re: Is there a PowerTerm or Hyperterm
I think it needs a serial port. (in our case, a usb to serial adapter which would create a "phantom" serial port)

Re: Is there a PowerTerm or Hyperterm
Maybe it works if you convert the micro or mini USB to USB to serial (RS232).
