N800 Warranty - UK
I bought a Nokia N800 from ebay this Feburary
and..... it developed a line of dead pixels across the screen. I checked the Nokia site that I need a proof of purchase. Do I reallty need a proof of purchase? Can I get get away without one? Can anyone help me out? Many thanks |
Re: N800 Warranty - UK
I don't know about the proof of purchase, but I do know that nokia doesn't honour the warranty internationally (e.g if you bought an USA unit, the warranty is only valid in the USA).

Re: N800 Warranty - UK
Nokia should be able to cross-reference the device's serial number with the invoice you provide them so best not be dishonest.
However, you do not need to provide proof of purchase. The Nokia warranty period is 2 years in Europe (that's the statutory minimum for consumer goods across the EU since 2002) and you can trivially prove that your device is younger than that (the N800 first went on sale in January 2007). |
