Installing ncurses-base, issues
 

Is there a different way to install ncurses-base (as a dependence for kismet) other than apt-get install? I get dependencies for ncurses-base as well -- when I try to apt-get install it, but I am told libpcre3-dev is required (which also had two dependencies), "but it is not going to be installed" as stated by apt-get?

Any suggestions.

wget the .deb in question and then install it with "dpkg -i --force-depends <name of file>.deb" or similar.

I'm surprised that libpcre3-dev is a dependency, no -dev file should be a dep of a normal binary package...

Which repo is this from?

Hmmm. I will find out which repo is being used (from what I can tell, it is available in a few places) however, I was a little concerned about the -dev myself... I really don't want to cause other issues... but more curiously is why I am having these problems, and why doesn't it simply install? Still working that out. Thanks Lardman
