Developers using python-gdata, please read this :)
I am maintaining the packages of gdata python bindings in the maemo.org extras repository, whenever I upload a new version to the repository (as today I uploaded the new 1.2.3 version to extras-devel), I wonder if it could break some of the programs that are using this library.
This way I think we using this library should have some place to comment when Google release a new version, when it will be uploaded to the repository, and what problems can be with the updates and this way to be more coordinated. We could open a mailing list in the garage project (https://garage.maemo.org/projects/python-gdata/), a thread here in ITT, or have some another way of communication about this topic. I am going to send a private msg with this thread to Khertan (mcalendar and others gems), Lorelei (erminig) and iancumihai (mytube), but sure there are more developers using the gdata bindings, so I would like everyone comment in this thread what he/she thinks. |

Personnaly i think the mailing list in the garage project is the better way.
I' ve something to look up on this gdata binding specially the network errors management. Indeed, sometimes when you lost connection while retrieving an calendar event feed list, you never get error or timeout and result in endless call. |

OK, I just got yerga's message (did not have the time to log in the last few weeks :( ), anyways I agree with Khertan, and a mailing list on garage is the way to go...

Hey, sorry for the delay, it was a very busy holidays ;)
I just opened a mailing list in the garage: https://garage.maemo.org/mail/?group_id=629 It should be active in some hours. Also, just promoted the 1.2.3 version to Extras from Extras-devel. If you have some problem with it, please comment. |
