Maemo Installation Problem in Fedora 10
 

Hi,

I installed Scratch box successfully. But, after executing the "maemo-sdk-install_4.1.2.sh" script, I am getting the below errors and installation is terminating:

Updating the gdk-pixbuf loaders list for GTK+-2.10.0...done.

Errors were encountered while processing:

dnsmasq
ppp
maemo-connectivity-runtime
maemo-connectivity-dev
maemo-core-runtime
maemo-core-dev
maemo-sdk-runtime
maemo-sdk-dev
E: Sub-process /scratchbox/devkits/debian-etch/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
E: Unable to install maemo-sdk-dev on DIABLO_X86 target.
E: Please check the sources.list for errors.
E: Scratchbox login returned error 100.


I repeated the installation process three times. But, I am getting the same error. Moreover, I reinstalled Fedora 10 again and tried to instal. But, getting the above same error.

Can anybody help me. Thanks in advance.

Well, a lot of thanks to http://www.gossamer-threads.com/list...rs/44741#44741 I've finished installation in Fedora 10.

After receiving the above errors login to scratchbox and perform the following:

sbox-DIABLO_<target>: ~] > rmdir /targets/<target>/dev/shm/network
sbox-DIABLO_<target>: ~] > dpkg --configure ifupdown
sbox-DIABLO_<target>: ~] > dpkg --configure netbase
sbox-DIABLO_<target>: ~] > dpkg --configure dnsmasq
sbox-DIABLO_<target>: ~] > fakeroot apt-get install maemo-sdk-runtime

Next continue the manual installation accroding to http://repository.maemo.org/stable/4.1.2/INSTALL.txt

hi

have you installed scratchbox version 1 or 2 before installing the SDK?
im really interested to add a fix for that in my easy-sdk-project..

Well, it was scratchbox-core-1.0.12.

Such strange actions help to finish installation, but if you want to build .deb package you can't:

> dpkg-buildpackage -rfakeroot
...
dh_installdirs
dh_installdirs: dpkg-architecture failed
make: *** [install] Error 1

Problem is completely the same: perl.bin coredumps due to some very rare condition. It was during installation and it is during build.

More precisely, ld can't load perl.bin:
Program terminated with signal 11, Segmentation fault.
#0 0x4000c0ec in _dl_catch_error () from /scratchbox/host_shared/lib/ld.so

And in the main /var/log/messages I have:
Jan 22 11:04:36 gag kernel: perl.bin[23672] general protection ip:4000c0ec sp:bfb598fc error:0 in ld-2.3.2.so[40000000+16000]

But if I perform any (which I try) perl script in scratchbox, it works perfectly. So I can't to reproduce conditions to coredump perl.bin except of deb-package build command.

And I want to add that such situation exists only in Fedora 10, scratchbox works in Fedora 9 and 8. I've scrtatchbox installed on Fedora 9, after upgrading to Fedora 10 I receive problem with the package building. Then I try to reinstall scratchbox and ...

After upgrading to scratchbox 1.0.13 the problem has been disappered.
