MSsN stopped working with third-party apps (Pidgin can't connect to MSN)
 

Today MSN stopped working with Pidgin and Adium (aMSN works!) and the maemo version of Pidgin stopped working with MSN as well. :(

My twitter pals told me of this http://code.google.com/p/msn-pecan/downloads/list but I don't know if it is portable to maemo Pidgin.

BTW Anyone with the "default" rtcomm chat plugin having problems as well?

I don't think you looked close enough :)

I installed the msn-pecan plugin on pidgin for maemo today and it is working fine.

hi, pidgin stoped loging in on my tablet as well. when i try to login it says "unable to retrieve MSN address book"
can someone tell me what to do?

Download and install this plugin

Then in pidgin go to Accounts then manage accounts and modify your MSN account change protocol from MSN to WLM and it should work.

Yep, the .deb in the pecan downloads is the correct plugin for Pidgin...

You just need to delete your old MSN account in pidgin and register with WLM in pidgin...

It is working!!
