PIM / Calendar app
I'm totally new to the 770 and have no experience of Linux. Please can someone tell me how to install a PIM app for the 770? I've seen a couple and I've tried to install them but they just wont work. Is there some sort of idiot's guide to doing this - I've already installed a couple of games but keep getting errors when I install the PIMs.
Many thanks Ravi |
What are the error messages you're getting?
|
II downloaded the gpe calendar app and asked the application manager to open it and it came
up with an error saying that something was missing. i suspect that i need to install something else but i don't know what to do. ravi |
First of all, have you updated the tablet to the 2006 OS? If not, you really should. That adds a proper package manager, among other things, which will simplify your life a lot.
Once you run the 2006 OS, you just add the software repository address in the Application Manager. For the GPE calendar etc, the info is: Repository: http://downloads.kernelconcepts.de/maemo2 Distribution: mistral Component: free Then, when you select to install, say, the calendar, the application manager will figure out the dependencies and install the required extra sub-packages. There are quite a few when you get the GPE apps. |
Pffffff
Yes this is theory but in fact the link does not work and return some packet error for each apps.
So the following package link does not work: Repository: http://downloads.kernelconcepts.de/maemo2 Distribution: mistral Component: free |
Awesome!
That's so cool.Thank you very much! Ravi |

I suspect a problem on the structure of the link for the packaging.
i do not know about this structure. If someone can help ? I tried Dates and it works.( simple bt working). |
