Forgotten my SSH password
I feel stupid... really stupid.
Back in November I read something about changing the default "rootme" password to stop people tunnelling in. I did this and thought that I used one of my standard passwords. I have decided to tunnel into the N810 myself and have found that I can't. I've used every password that I can think of but still no joy, am I doing it right? I installed Open SSH (Server and client combined) I bring up a terminal on my Mac Type "root@192.168.1.4" (This is my current IP) It asks for a password I get the password wrong. Is there a way for me to reset the password from the tablet? I have installed easyroot but am unsure of how to use it externally. I can use it fine from the NIT's terminal. Thanks in advance, BTW I feel like such a lemon. Steve |
Re: Forgotten my SSH password
Install rootsh. Get a root shell. Reset the password.

Re: Forgotten my SSH password
Or install sudser and type:
sudo su - passwd |
Re: Forgotten my SSH password
I love you guys, thanks very much that did the trick.
(I did the Sudser method because it was already installed, I'm sure Ryan's method works well too) Steve |
