Ideas for Mounting N810 with USB port exposed
Like many, I'm looking to use my N810 as a removable car computer running GPS nav, Carman, and media playback. I really want to connect a large, USB hard drive to the tablet for copious amounts of inexpensive and compact storage. The obvious problem is that the USB port is hidden when the kickstand is folded back and the supplied car mount is used.
I'm wondering if anyone else is doing this same thing and if they have any images or suggestions. I'm looking for a solution that is not permanent. I have a great looking and nicely integrated mount from ProClip that I'm curretnly using. |

i think you'll just have to take the stand off.

Possibly, you can cut out the lower half of the car mount's rear, so you can open the slide. Not the best solution, but...

Re: Ideas for Mounting N810 with USB port exposed
I made a car mount for my N800 which consists of a cork sanding block with a slot cut in for the stand to be held snugly. The block then slides into a cubby hole in my dash, just above my stereo. Check these photos... edit..- I should o course comment that this consists of no modifications to the tablet, and leaves the USB port open for business,

I guess my other option is to get the custom MicroSDHC to SDHC adapter and max it out with 32gb but you still run into mounting issues.

Ya know something funny? I saw a guy on here who came up with a custom n810 mount for his car that allowed him to make full use of it just like it was a touch screen nav device and media player in one. Don't remember the name of the thread, but you could look for it. What he did was just short of genius.

Yeah! That's the one! I wish he would have done that as a kit. I would love to get something like that for my car too. :D
