Leaky n810 WiMax?
After selling my 770 tablet awhile back, I finally decided to take the plunge on a n810 (better late than never!) :D Even though the regular n810's are cheap right now, I decided I really liked the look of the WiMax edition and found an open box unit for a decent price.
It came in mint shape with only one issue--there is a small amount of oil or lubricant that is appearing on the back of flipped up screen. I've wiped it off a few times but a little bit keeps getting tracked up from the inside when I reopen it. My buddy's new n810 doesn't have this going on, so I wanted to see if this has happened to anyone else. Did I get a leaky n810, or did the previous owner just spill something inside the unit? |
Re: Leaky n810 WiMax?
Not a n810, but I had a similar issue. Culprit turned out to be a slime-logged sd card bought off the interwebs.
Your issue may well be different. |

They are linear marks, so I'm wondering if the slider mechanism on this n810 was just oiled maybe a little too liberally. btw, here are two pictures of what I'm referring to, one is on the far left side when looking at the back, the other is just to the right of the middle of the unit.

Re: Leaky n810 WiMax?
Yeah, that's just normal factory grease leaking out. Unless you suddenly get large, grievous amounts of it leaking out, I wouldn't worry about it. It'll settle down over time. Mine did. If nothing else, it means the device was properly oiled before leaving the line. :D

Great...good to know it's normal. Thanks for the reply Raiden. :)
