Step by step: mytube on 2007He
 

Step by step installation of mYTube on 770 running 4.2008.7-1 (the last 2007He, NOT the 2008He). Just document it so I can follow myself in the future if I have to re-install this wonderful app

Install mplayer.18: dl https://garage.maemo.org/frs/downloa...1913/mplayer_1 to default folder, /home/user/MyDocs/.documents; click the dl file to install via app manager

Install mYTube: dl https://garage.maemo.org/frs/downloa...032/mytube_0.1 to default folder, /home/user/MyDocs/.documents

xterm
/ $ sudo gainroot
/ # dpkg -i /home/user/MyDocs/.documents/mytube_0.1.5-1_all.deb ; apt-get -f install
answer Y to everythings
reboot
mytube

OMG, I CANNOT believe the quality of the playback, it is SO smooth, no stuttering, jittering, on the few youtube music video I am watching, streaming, not dl, direct streaming.......mYTube has pretty much optimized the playback parameters. Again I am using the mplayer.18....wondering how it looks if using the mplayer .24. Of course, if running into stuttering, you can always dl the copy and play.

770 is the best Internet Tablet in the world ;)
invented 2 years before iPod Touch by Apple.

I always expected Nokia to have it upgraded to 1GHz + 1GB RAM Linux machine one day.
Frankly speaking 770 is my first Linux gadget coming with GUI.

As support for 770, 800, 810 is no more provided by Nokia
my question is if you would like to write a 770 book,
meeting old good Internet standards known from Usenet Groups ,
i.e.
FAQ
Q&A
HowTo
live and working web links to repositories, applications
all-in-one
and semantic knowledge database
in printed form.

What is offered today is a portoflio of never ending stories, threads,
not supported by search engines.

770 Book can come as 100-page long both in electronic and paper form.
It's ok 770 forum is no more noisy, overloaded by traffic of requests and stories from distressed N900 users.

Operating 770 is still a challenge as 2008He crashed regularly.
Problem with web browser is JavaScript, so page is stalled, waiting for Javascript code to be completed.

I succeeded recently to install
python2.5-runtime
gpsbt library
so I can run gps py scripts from Xterm to get long/lat and fix

I would like to integrate gpsbt with Maemaps to get another
Maemo Mapper-like app.

Has Nokia developers never tested voice in 2008He and no workaround solution is offered ?
I really liked voice in 2006, 2007He but 2008He is for deaf.

Any chance to install mytube via Red Pill mode
or from Xterm
apt-get update
apt-get install mytube ?
to get dependencies if any ?
