well, Gstreamer is there and pressing the stop/play/ffwd, rewind, scrubbing bar and volume works: this make it a working app? Not really :), If Ill be able to do something cute Ill upload it and decide if keep it up: like I said I dont think another mp3 player is a big priority on the tablet, just another excuse for me to study a bit the platform.

the one thing i dont like about youamp is its inability to be pointed at a random file.

lets just say i hate these overly clever, auto-scanning library thingies ;)

Oh sorry for the confusion :) I still didnt decide if the thing deserve a name: I just wanted a frontend for gstreamer ( I like how fast Gstreamer 'scrub' and I need for biga** podcast files) then like usual the things evolve a bit.
Since the application was not suppose to go 'in the wild' the name was just 'AUDIO' because would be the only audio player on my tablet but since the 'teaser pics' had a couple of nice comments now we need a name: any idea?
something italian like 'mammamiaplayer'?

Well, Im no good to judge my own works that's why I share them here, there is always someone nice enough to waste a bit of time to test and leave a comment :)
Anyway now the thing is begining to take a 'shape' and I guess I can upload something

100% agree. This 'player' is another itch of mine: an application should start as fast as possible and be
always reactive and 'sensefull' (even more on a tablet).
Im my mind the thing should have 2 different 'playmodes':
one directly from the directory browsing (if I want play something on the fly, maybe something I just downloaded in some weird directory)
and one like a more classic player but with the scrubbing bar and the volume always handy. Ill see how I can manage the playlists
and multiple playing: I suppose the 1st step will be to play everything inside the directory and maybe automagically go down
trough the path. We'll see.
