Help with n810 screen issue
Randomly my screen starts to scroll as if it has lost vsync like on old tv's however this issue seems to happen very randomly and i am not sure why.
I think there may be some damage to the connection that links the screen to the body. The issue seems to resolve itself when moving the screen to the point in which the backlight on the keyboard would come on. I am guessing there is a microswitch of some form that detects when your opening the screen. When you push the screen past this point to far or before the point(such as fully covering the keyboard) the screen goes semi blank with very faint lines as if the image has been squashed and repeated over and over. The attached link is to a video of the issue starting from at the point and moving it up and down. If anyone could give me any ideas on what could cause this issue please let me know Additionally if anyone knows where i might find instructions on how to remove the screen and pull the entire thing apart so i can check the screen connector. I have searched around but i can not find out to take the screen off. Apologies for the 3gp Weird Screen Vid |
Re: Help with n810 screen issue
Well I found the issue. I managed to work out how to pull my N810 apart and get it back together again.
I think some water got into the back of the screen. The ribbon cable going from the body to the screen has left a pattern of marks on the shell of the n810 that match the wire configuration in the ribbon cable. Basically its worn away too much of the conductive material so the single does not reach the screen properly. Anyone have any suggestions on how i might go about getting a replacement ribbon cable for the screen? If i contacted nokia would they sell me the replacement? |
