Application manager offering updates of packages already installed

As in the title when I check for updates all the applications that are listed as updatable are the same versions that are already installed on my tablet. It virtually lists all the applications I have from Advanced backlight to VNC but all the version numbers are the same as already installed. I have to check each one to make sure that it is not an actual update to the version I have already.
I have N800 booting from Cloned SD but have not changed anything recently. All repositories seem ok no duplicates or errors.
I have tried running usual commands apt-get update ect but nothing seems to get it to sync with what is already installed??
Any ideas??
cheers

Check your repository list.
You shouldn't use chinook and diablo repositories at the same time. Just use the repository for the version you are using.

So, Casper, you are saying you aren't using the Chinook repository? You don't specifically say that, so I wonder.

I have had some repeats too lately; I figure they might be very small changes, so I just go ahead and install them.
