Handwriting on Nokia N810
 
Hi, after completing handwriting recognition on my Nokia N810, I was wondering what it's purpose is. I can find no software on my N810 that makes use of handwriting. Am I overlooking something here? What is handwriting recognition for?

It's an alternate input method. To use it:
  1. Close the keyboard slide on your N810.
  2. Launch the Notes application.
  3. Tap in the middle of the screen. The stylus keyboard will open at the bottom of the screen.
  4. Locate the button in the bottom left corner of the stylus keyboard that contains an icon that appears somewhat like a piece of lined paper with an arrow pointing to it.
  5. Tap that button.
  6. In the pop-up menu that opens, tap "Input method".
  7. In the "Input method" sub-menu that open, tap "Handwriting".

the problem with the handwriting in put is that it's incredibly slow at recognizing and processing your handwriting. if it read faster it would be a lot better input method, but since it's so slow it's faster just to use the onscreen keyboard

sjgadsby, your instructions don't appear to be working for me, in fact, I cannot even get the on display keyboard to appear. Tapping the middle of the screen does nothing.

In Text Input Method there is a slider for Handwriting Speed. It's calibrated the opposite of what you expect. If you have many bars highlighted, unhighlight them.
