GPS navigator in Java or Linux

I have seen several browsers that run on Java and some in linux.

Would not to run java in N800 and then starting running gps software?

Or something more complex, the system would run on another OS in N8x0? I think volumes here would want a system better than the Wayfinder, but then we would have to turn off and on to log into another OS to access the program!

Anybody know, is it possible to do something about it.

Why do the developers waiting for the Maemo (which I doubt since it is only existing 3 tablets). We could (which has a great knowledge of programming), using the browsers on other OS (Android, Debian, Ubuntu, Windows CE, etc. ...).

Any solution.

Re: GPS navigator in Java or Linux

Linux is an operating system and Java is a language which runs on many OS's. I haven't seen an implementation of Java for the tablet but there may be one if you look hard. Java aps are very OS and hardware independant.

You are mixing up programming languages and operating systems.
