Shouldn't Downloads (Software) show Homepages, etc.
If you click on, for example, Canola2 on this webpage, you get very little information about it. That's the way it is for any application that you approach through the Applications Index, which is how most applications can be found.
Contrast this with Canola2 approached through this webpage. You get the homepage, bug-reporting link, and comments. My memory is that you used to get homepages, etc., offered for all the applications. Without it, I find the information too skimpy for apps with which I'm not already familiar. (Additionally, even the information provided is not consistent. One shows almost 4 stars, the other shows only 3. One says that it's a beta, the other doesn't.) |
Re: Shouldn't Downloads (Software) show Homepages, etc.
There's already been a thread on this, but I'm too lazy to search (at work, on tablet).
In summary, X-Fade did an import of everything in Extras into Downloads which generated some duplicates for packages with inconsistent naming. |
Re: Shouldn't Downloads (Software) show Homepages, etc.
Yeah, this was due to a mass import so a lot of stuff is duplicated:

Re: Shouldn't Downloads (Software) show Homepages, etc.
Original question isn't about the import.
If you click "Canola2 Media Player" on http://maemo.org/downloads/OS2008/multimedia/ you'll get to the page with full details. It's the same page as where you when clicked from downloads front page. |

Ah, yeah, sorry I got this wrong too.
Maybe the inconsistencies should be reported to Bugzilla? The data should be consistent whatever format a page uses. |
