gvm and 770? You bet!
N900 spec is out...maybe my 770 is more fun ;)
Go access site, http://www.access-company.com/products/gvm/, dl beta4 for OS2007, it runs well on 2007He. Beta 4 OS2008 has dependency problems with 2008He. So dl beta4 for OS2007 and install via app manager on 2007He. It crashes when hotsync, otherwise runs fine. Not quite sure whether its from my PC setup or the beta4. To avoid wipe up your apps from crash, you can run apps on SD card. To setup SD card, http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=14391, thread #28/29, xterm mkdir ~/.gvm/cards echo -e "/media/mmc1\nRW" > ~/.gvm/cards/0 set Settings on the gvm to 64 MBytes for Storage heap, copy all your favorite apps to SD slot 1, fire up zlaunch, here you are running gvm on 770! Good until 11/2009, enjoy while it last. So far, these are my apps Blox -Tetrax game Continental - flight booking for Continental Airline Epocrates - drug book Google mobile maps MedCalc Pac-man - only the trial version PocketLink - web browser Resco Explorer - 15 d trial Stopwatch SysInfo SC-123PU - calculator with converter TCPMP - media player Zlauncher Cant make miniOpera running :( enjoy, bun |
Re: gvm and 770? You bet!
I keep wondering would gvm/TCPMP plays more video format than the native mediaplayer and mplayer? Anybody has experience? I DO see gvm/TCPMP plays more smooth video in a window screen, much more smooth, than the native player on some copies, no stuttering, no chopping. However, I cannot make it to play fullscreen. Apparantly the video driver for the gvm/TCPMP, even under a VM environment does a better job than the native player, from a user experience. Go figure.
so far, I have tried .avi and .mp4. (I know, I know, it is a box, it is not a real format that kind of discussion etc, I am too lazy to go to g-spot...ouch!), I will try some rmvb, wma etc and see how it goes, or if somebody already did it. bun |
