Which GPS
I looked through this thread and realized I don't know enough about how GPS units work (gnuite maybe a brief tutorial would be great considering how much work you've done on mapper), mainly do the more expensive GPS units have the maps built into the unit?
Being able to download maps beforehand is certainly useful, but what if you want to make an unplanned stop somewhere, or there is construction that messes up your route? And can maemo mapper be integrated with a GPS in such a way that in the event you depart from the downloaded maps, it will switch over to what is on the GPS? Of course all of these questions would be for nothing if I could figure out a way to download large areas (like states) at all zoom levels (maybe someone has this already and perhaps there is a .torrent to the data somewhere?) some of these are probably stupid questions, sorry for being such a noob at this |
