How water proof is the n810?
I'm not asking this question because I've accidentally thrown my NIT in a bucket of water or anything, but I have come close a couple of times, so I'm just curious how well they would survive should my level of clumsiness fall far enough over the edge that I drop it in some water.

I'm not quite sure. I know in the manual for it, it says something along the lines of "keep the tablet away from moisture"

Cant speak to the 810 - by my 800 faired ok being in my shirt pocket (with the holes up (ear/power)) - and me being soaked in a late afternoon south FL tstorm...
So its a little more than 'moisture' as in the last post - but I'd still keep it away from the bucket of water. ;-) |

Well I don't know about waterproof.... But they are milk proof! :p
The day after I bought my N810 I spilt an entire cup of milk over it... the it was swimming in milk!! The poor screen and the keyboard were compliantly drowned! But it suffered no ill effects from it and works fine ;) Can't say the same for the chair it was sitting on though...... |
Re: How water proof is the n810?
i spilt coffe all over my N800 once when i was showing it to some guy at a coffee shop who was thinking about buying one, the entire screen was covered in a slick, sticky mess (i put lots of shurgar and cream in my coffee) - it took me hours to disasemble it and clean out the muck, not to mention i was totally embarrassed because everyone was looking at me

lol. Well, at least I know I'm not the only coordinated individual around here when it comes to spilling things. ;)

Re: How water proof is the n810?
I use my n810 for geocaching a lot. I've built the geekiest arm mount ever using the dashboard mount that came with it. It's very convenient, but it is also totally exposed to weather and the potential drowning if I loose my footing crossing a stream or whatever.
I've never submerged mine, but I've had no problems using it in a light mist as long as I kept drying it. |
