Problems with missing packages (libraries)
 

I hve brand new N810 and I have encountered problem, that I can't install many applications, becouse of packages (libraries) missing.
Most time I encounter theese missing packages:
and maybe, couple more...

OS Version: 1.2007.42-19 (Chinook)

So, do I need to upgrade (flash) my OS to newest? In cople of days, I will receive cable from China, so I will be able to do that...
Maybe there is a place, where I can just download those libraries to my tablet and it will solve the problem?

How exactly are you trying to install apps? Basically Application Manager is the only easy way to install (or through maemo.org/downloads).

I would recommend that you upgrade to latest OS too.

Ofcourse, through Application Manager, but, before using that, you need to add repository with files you need. I havent found any repo, where would be theese libraries, but there is possibility to download/install .deb files from internet...

That's probably the issue - your installed versions are too old.
I'd definitely recommend to install 5.2008.43-7. See http://wiki.maemo.org/Updating_the_tablet_firmware .

You didn't tell how and what are you exactly trying to install.

I would guess (based on the first post) that you were trying to install .deb meant for diablo manually with application manager. If the application is listed in maemo.org/downloads try to install it from there.

Application manager doesn't install depencies when installing .debs directly.

Theese libraries was dependencies for lots of software, starting from games, till different communication software.
Those apps, are definetly for chinnok, so, this is not the case of installing soft for wrong OS...
If you started to talk about .deb file installation, then I can say, that I am used to app. manager, so I download/install files directly from net very rearly...

Noone unerstood what I want to be answered?
I want to know, where to get those damn libraries!? Are they only inside OS package or they can be taken from somewhere else, for example, internet!? Is this realy hard question to answer? :(

PS: I know how to flash/update OS. When I had N770, I flashed it couple of times to the newest OS I could found, but it suddently crashed with white screen of death (just like this guy) which I think is hardware bug, not software, that is why I got my N810 from ebay, but without any accessory, except charger, that is why, I am waiting for cable to come from Honkong, so I can try reflash my N810, but before that, I want to try solve this problem in other way, than reflashing...

You've been answered correctly, twice: flash the tablet. Don't complain when you've been given the correct answer twice and you're unwilling to listen.

Just wait for the cable to come.

debs for the libraries that come with chinook are sparse. There is no update repository for them and the SDK repo for it does not have all the libraries built (just the source packages). And I don't think anyone is willing to mount the jffs2 image and dpkg-repack. :)

Oh, they're diablo versions of libraries. In that case, you may be able to find what you're looking for here: http://repository.maemo.org/pool/diablo/free/ but if you mess up your tablet trying to update these libraries, you know you'll have no choice but to reflash it (and wait for Hong Kong post), right?
