X11vnc and unknown rectangle encoding 85 disconnect
 

Trying to connect from my macbook pro running osx 10.5.7 and Chicken of the VNC. It does connect briefly, a few seconds, but then disconnects with a pop up:

Connection Terminated
Unknown rectangle encoding 85 - > exiting

Is this something that I can fix?

Try changing the preferred encoding in CotVNC, and/or try another VNC client.

I've had pretty good luck with Jolly's Fast VNC. There are a few things that don't work -- some keyboard events don't get transmitted properly, and some mouse clicks aren't recognized. From what I gather, though, that's an inherent limitation with the VNC protocol not playing nicely with the customized n810 X11 input handlers.

There's a patch for that, and even binary packages courtesy of the very helpful qwerty12 :-)
