Free Internal Memory
 

New to linux, still learning.

Starting to get memory full errors when running programs. Below is the output showing 98% of the internal memory of my device being used. File manager, storage details, data, indicate there are 47M installed files and 91M other files installed.

Is there a way to list the 244.1M of files so I can determine files which can be deleted to free memory? I would like to free memory w/out removing installed programs.

Any other pointers to free/conserve memory? Not interested in booting from SD card at this time. (Need a little more exp.)

Booting from an SD is not that hard. But before that, you can go to your Documents folder and remove all users guides, go to Images folder and clear out all those images and keep the ones you need, and Video clips too.

Then thinking about booting from SD.

Thxs for the quick response. However the few docs remaining in Document Folder uses <100kB of data. Other folders contain no data.

users guide is another folder but maybe you have delete them. One guide is over 2M and we have more than 15 of them in there. I deleted them all so I can't tell you how much memory I have saved.

One more step: Go to Settings -> App mgr -> show installed app
and delete apps you don't use often or never use at all (games maybe?)

One more thing: always watch your memory: settings -> control panel -> memory
before installing software.
