Problem with networking via USB
Hi all,
I use N810 with latest Maemo and got the following problem: when I try to set up network connection via USB cable (as described in http://wiki.maemo.org/USB_networking), all necessary modules are loaded, both usb0 interfaces on tablet and on PC appear and appropriate IP addresses are set. However, I cannot ping neither the tablet (from PC), nor the PC (from tablet). Wireshark shows that ARP requests (sent by PC to retrieve HW address of the tablet) are not responded, so it seems that devices don't see each other on level2. I'd appreciate if you could surmise what kind of trouble I have. |

yeah, on PC I use Linux 2.6.29-r5

Re: Problem with networking via USB
A firewall perhaps? I had a similar problem since the firewall (shorewall) wouldn't allow traffic on the new, unknown to it, interface.

Re: Problem with networking via USB
Well, it seems that I resolved the problem. Today I found out that when I connect the tablet to my PC, two usb interfaces appear at tablet (usb0 and usb1) instead of one. I don't clearly understand why it happens; anyway, I've established connection via usb1 and it works well.
