Full Size Keyboard for my 810
Hi All,
I just saw a really cool flexible full-size keyboard at Bed, Bath & Beyond (of all places) that I would like to try. Has anyone tried this? Do you think it will work with my 810? Here's the link to it: http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/prod...1&SKU=16274640 I'd love to hear your thoughts. TIA, Andrea |
Re: Full Size Keyboard for my 810
These kinds of keyboards are being sold all over China (where we live) in pretty much any corner computer shop for less than US $10. I've tried them out to feel them. The keys are a little mushy but have a click. I'm not sure how long they'd last build-wise, but they're probably not for speed typists.
The biggest problem I have with these is the size. They're not as compact as I'd like--they don't fit in your pocket, unless your pocket can hold something that's a little bigger than a beer can. (For myself, I use an old Palm Thinkpad Stowaway bluetooth keyboard which folds up into a small package). The only other issue I'd see for using it with an NIT is the power consumption. They may work fine from the NIT's micro-USB port, but I don't know because I haven't tried them personally. Some other pro's for this keyboard: it's waterproof; probably easy to throw into luggage when you travel. |

I have one from a different source than Bed & Bath. Unless I'm heavy handed about each key pressed some don't register.

I have something like this too, and it works fine on my N810. Expect some key mapping to be not what you'd expect, and some function keys do nice things (like full screen toggles).
The one I bought is a yellow-orange in color and does have very poor key action like Palmleavr stated. I've used other flexible keyboards that are much better. If you can take your NIT + USB cable (with the USB-Control" program installed) into the store and see if you can try it out before you buy. |
