Hello guys,


I had a few questions about posting in threads here,

1) how do you get info to show under your name

2) i guess this might be answerd with # 1 since the info is with the Sig, but how do you get a signiture, i dnt see the option for anything in my account manager.

3) how do you get a picture for your avatar, i assumed it would be something you could do after X amount of post but someone with less then me had an avatar.

4) how do you get the links to different pages to not show up as a big long url but a word of you choice.

5) "I believe that this may be a download" but how do you capture screen shots like in the thread that let you show of your desktop.

1) you do have info that shows up under your name. number of posts, your location, thanked xx times.... etc.

2) go to
http://talk.maemo.org/profile.php?do=editsignature

3) go to
http://talk.maemo.org/profile.php?do=editavatar

4) write the word you want to appear as a link. then select it and click on the symbol with the blue globe above the text input area. a window will pop up asking for the URL. then this will be automatically transformed into the correct forum-style code for URLs.

5) yes, its a download.

Thanks a lot! I always wonderd what that globe was for, and the info i was referring to was the sig block which i just figured out. You have no idea how much light you just shead on so many other things...


do you knwo the name of the download for Q # 5...

its called the "load applet" - i made the word "download" a link in my above post (using the globe symbol :D ...), so just click and install it from there

sorry guys i was rushing home from work and missed that "Invisible link"

but while i have your attention i had a query about canola2 beta11, it wont let me use my lastfm account and gives me a message saying: error has occurred in my session.the server may be down or i may be experiencing network problems; does lastfm only work in the US like pandora? well sorry I asked this here instead of the software forum but i didnt see one on this particular topic and didnt want to start a thread just for that.

Since April, Last.fm has required a paid subscription outside the USA, UK, and Germany, yes.

"[canola],[vegalume] Last.fm is pulling the plug"
