Problem with Navit
 

I installed Navit and edited the "binfile" in the .xml file to match the path of the map i downloaded to the folder "MyDocs".

I edited the .xml file to:
"<map type="binfile" enabled="yes" data="/home/user/MyDocs/map.bin"/>"

I copied the .xml to "/home/user/.navit/"

but still when I starts Navit it shows no map.

I downloaded the map from:
http://downloads.cloudmade.com

and also tried a map from:
http://maps.navit-project.org/download

If it helps I'm using n810.

It may be because navit happens to be focused on an area of the world that's outside of your map. In that case, try waiting for the GPS to get a lock, or try searching for a nearby town or street (which will only work if they're tagged with correct country data)
