Blender 3D on Debian

hi everybody
after re-installing debian on my n810.i have been trying debian apps.
after a couple of installation apt-get started to give error that says you should run dpkg --configure -a
i could solve the problem by
apt-get check
apt-get clean -f
apt-get autoremove -f

but it stills gives same error whenever i try to install another app.

so..
today i saw a blender app. package available for debian but i couldn't test it to see if it is working or not due to problem above.

therefore i wanted to ask it here any chance to work blender on deblet??

Without 3D acceleration, blender is not really usable, plus you do need a keyboard and a 3 button mouse. I do not see the point of running this on a tablet.

Blender is like a swiss knife - you can use it to edit movies and sound, scripting python, play games besides 3D editing. To get it to run i suspect you have to build statically it against Mesa in Debian with an Arm target or in the Maemo SDK...

For basic modelling, Wings3d might work as it has a considerably simpler interface and much lower overhead. (I used to run it smoothly on a Celeron 433 MHz with Intel i810 graphics).

infact i was going to use blender as 3d model viewer
i know modelling on tablet wouldn't be useful
i just want to view 3d models that i modelled in 3dsmax

wings3d is not working due to lack of opengl in maemo

Finally got a build working. libs require about 50megs, and blender uses another 30. I just moved /usr/local to /home and relinked, so that I can just put all my libs in /usr/local/libs for development. here's a screenshot of the build. Runing currently at about 3fps...

It appears that pulseaudio is using all the cpu.

Are these builds posted anywhere yet? "Release early, release often..." :)

It is very nice that you have built Blender, and it will be nicer when you have an installable version, but it is not nice that you have created an entry in maemo.org Downloads without any way to install it, and only a link to your blog (what doesn't explain how to install it).

You should delete the entry in downloads, or just hidden it until it is useful.
